Kazakhstan's National Atomic Company 'Kazatomprom' plans to be the largest producer of uranium in the world, these intentions were reflected in the adopted Development Strategy for 2015-2025.
"Implementation of the strategy will allow 'Kazatomprom' and Kazakhstan to maintain their previously-achieved leading position in the production of natural uranium in the world," the official statement said.
It is expected that over the next ten years the company will be engaged in the construction of new mines, as well as reducing the cost of uranium mining through modern technology, RIA Novosti reported.
