According to the results of last year, the growth of Kazakhstan's economy amounted to 1.2% of GDP. This was reported by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev.
At the same time, despite economic growth, industrial production in the country fell by 1.6% during the last year, which occurred because of a 2.5% decline in the mining industry.
"The decrease in production volumes of the mining industry was also affected by the reduction of oil production by 1.7%, coal by 5%, as well as iron ore by 22%, it is mainly due to the fall in demand from China," Interfax quoted him as saying.
