Kazakhstan will supply various railway products worth $500 million for Azerbaijan Railways CJSC in the near future, Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Beybit Isabayev said at a briefing Oct 26, Trend reports.
Isabayev noted that the relevant agreements were signed as part of a strategy of cooperation of the two countries on expanding trade turnover and list of delivered goods.
“Agreements on strategic cooperation in the field of logistics and railway transport engineering have been signed between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC (Kazakhstan Railways) and Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, which include an item on Kazakhstan's guaranteed supplies of railway products worth more than $500 million to Azerbaijan in the next two to three years,” he noted.
Isabayev said that the products of Kazakhstan’s machine-building industry were used in the implementation of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway.
“In particular, products of the Aktobe Rail and Section Works LLP were used for the reconstruction of the main Azerbaijani railways,” added the envoy.
