Kazakhstan’s COVID-19 cases surpass 86,000

Kazakhstan confirmed more than 1,500 new COVID-19 cases and the total case tally reached 86,192, the interdepartmental commission for the prevention of COVID-19 said.

"In the past day, 1,544 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Kazakhstan. Of them 760 without any clinical implications," Sputnik Kazakhstan cited the statement as saying.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Kazakhstan has climbed to 793.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that Kazakhstan has extended its lockdown over the novel coronavirus for two more weeks until mid-August and the restrictions will then be eased gradually.
