The Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, reported today that the city intends to submit a bid to host the Summer Olympics.
"This is an event, a decision on which is adopted throughout the country and personally led by the President of the country. We will declare ourselves, but a moment should come for the commitment of the country and the city. With every international event, such as the University Games, the World Cup in water sports and the Football World Championship, the infrastructure (not just sports facilities) will rise to an even greater level," Tass quotes him as saying.
