US Secretary of State John Kerry has held a telephone conversation today with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and made a statement that the strengthening of the military positions of Russia in Syria could lead to an escalation of the conflict in the region.
He made it clear that if it is true, such actions could lead to a further escalation of the conflict and more serious victims among civilians. The US Secretary of State expressed his opinion that it could also lead to "an increase in the flow of refugees, the threat of confrontation with the coalition that is fighting in Syria against militants of the terrorist group Islamic State," RIA Novosti reports.
