US Secretary of State John Kerry has made a strong statement on the agreement reached with Iran on its nuclear program, urging Congress to approve it.
"Whether we like it or not, Iran has gained experience in the nuclear field and achieved the ability to create materials for nuclear weapons ... Remember that the sanctions haven’t prevented the INP from its development to the level that allows Iran to create enough materials for nuclear weapons. By the way, they did not opt for the production of nuclear weapons in comparison with North Korea, which created and tested them outside of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Iran didn’t do this,’’ Kerry said, speaking in the Senate.
