US Secretary of State John Kerry met with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Washington.
The US State Department spokesperson John Kirby said that they discussed "ongoing efforts to secure a political transition in Syria".
"They also assessed coalition efforts to degrade and defeat Daesh in Syria," TASS cited him as saying.
The US diplomat noted that Kerry and Erdogan discussed '"the progress that has been made on the ground", as well as "ways to strengthen our cooperation against this shared threat".
