The US Secretary of State John Kerry and the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed the situation related to ballistic missile tests, which took place this week in Iran, the US State Department spokesman John Kirby said.
He noted that the US government is aware of reports about "additional missile launches" in Iran. "The US Secretary of State raised his concerns today with the Foreign Minister Javad Zarif," Kirby confirmed.
The official representative of the US State Department once again vowed that Washington will "take all necessary countermeasures" in connection with these missile launches, adding that it was the US intention to implement some of the UN Security Council's motions, and possible unilateral sanctions.
The US administration recognized that ballistic missiles do not violate the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and the P5+1 group. Nevertheless, Washington is convinced that they violated UN Security Council resolution 2231, TASS reports.
