Kerry calls Lavrov to discuss situation in Syria

The US State Department spokesman John Kirby has confirmed that today John Kerry held a telephone conversation with Sergey Lavrov.

He said that the foreign ministers discussed the situation in Syria.

"I know that they discussed Syria, but I have no details of the conversation," he added.

Kirby said that the conversation was held on the initiative of the US, RIA Novosti reports.
