Khachapuri price index records significant increase in Georgia

The International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University reported October's khachapuri price index increase.

Research determined Imeretian khachapuri averaged 7.3 lari ($2.4) per portion last month, representing 3.5% monthly and 10.3% annual increases.

Analysts attributed the index surge to price inflation across essential ingredients except dairy products.

Let us recall that khachapuri received the status of an intangible cultural heritage monument in 2019.
