Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that the US plans to challenge decisions by the Guardian Council in order to portray elections as illegal.
According to him, "the Americans have opposed certain basic organs, including the Guardian Council since the first day of the Revolution."
"Now they want to call into question its decisions, that is, to portray the elections, the parliament and the laws adopted by the parliament as illegal," RIA Novosti cited Khamenei as saying.
The next elections to the Iranian Parliament and the Assembly of Experts will take place on February 26.
