Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei believes that the policy of double standards pursued by the United States and the West against the Islamic world was the reason for the creation of the Islamic State terrorist group and the activation of terrorism in general.
He said in a letter to Western youth that "now terrorism has become a common concern." Khamenei stressed the US’s role in “creating, nurturing and arming al-Qaeda, the Taliban and their inauspicious successors."
According to him, "the military campaigns against Muslim countries in recent years with countless victims is another example of the contradictory logic of the West." Iran's Supreme Leader stressed that the countries that have been attacked have seen numerous deaths and loss of economic and industrial infrastructure."
Khamenei pointed out that "the roots of violence should not be sought anywhere else in the world", as long as "double-standards continue to dominate" the Western policy by categorizing “bad and good terrorism," Interfax reports.
