Khasay Hasanli wins gold at European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku

Azerbaijani  Greco-Roman wrestler Khasay Hasanli (65kg) won the gold medal in the final of the XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival - EYOF Baku 2019.

In the final he defeated Germany's Deni Nakaev (3:1).

Earlier today, Khasay Hasanli beat his Greek opponent Fotios Boukis (3:0) in the first round and then defeated his rival from Finland Kasperi Kauhanen (3:0) and from Switzerland David Loher (4:1), reaching the semifinals. He secured a victory in a match during the semifinals over a Ukrainian wrestler Marian Holubovskyi (3:1), making it to the finals.

The XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival is being held in Baku on July 21-27. The festival will be attended by more than 3,900 athletes from 48 European countries. Athletes will compete in ten kinds of sports - gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. In total, athletes will compete for 135 sets of medals.
