The Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation works at the highest level, the vice president of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan, Khazar Isaev said today in an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkazka on the sidelines of the FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku.
"In Azerbaijan, gymnastics has become a very popular sport, including acrobatics and artistic gymnastics. In rhythmic gymnastics, Azerbaijan is developing very quickly. All our gymnastic international competitions are above the world level. The Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation has been conducting them for many years, so today Azerbaijani sport is on the very high level, "he noted first of all.
"Our athletes are also constantly growing and developing, and it is very pleasant that in all disciplines, there are both children and young people presented. We are only beginning to develop some disciplines, including acrobatics and gymnastics, but even now there is an active growth. In general, The Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation works at the highest level, and in the future good gymnasts will regularly appear in Azerbaijan, " Khazar Isaev said.
“The FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Cup is held in Baku for the first time, but despite this, a lot of spectators came to watch it, and the fans enjoy watching the performances of their athletes. We rarely see gymnasts from India, but today they also participate in the World Cup and this is an example for other states in terms of the development of acrobatics. I think that at the next Acrobatics World Cup in Baku there will be even more athletes and teams, because the very first tournament of this format is held in accordance with all global standards, " the vice president of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan said.
"It is interesting that the national dances were presented at the opening ceremony - and this is very suitable for acrobatics, our national art very harmoniously complements the elements of sports acrobatics. I think this is a new word in the world gymnastics, especially in Azerbaijan, and in the future this World Cup will remain in our memory, it will be pleasant for everyone to watch and remember this tournament, " Khazar Isaev concluded.
