The Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) attaches great importance for Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georia and European countries, SOCAR first Vice-President Khoshbakht Yusifzade said at the 25th Caspian Oil and Gas Conference.
According to him, many countries will benefit from SGC: "Azerbaijan has large gas reserves. Now this pipeline will transport this gas to the world market’.
The Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields so far has produced 455 million tonnes of oil and 145 billion cubic meters of gas, Yusifzade said, noting that more than 258 million tonnes of profit oil produced from these fields till early May have been sent to the world markets.
The official opening ceremony of the Southern Gas Corridor project at Sangachal terminal was held in Baku on May 29.
