Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze reacted emotionally to the OSCE Representative's comments on the detention of protesters on October 4. Maria Telalian called the protesters "peaceful," describing the events in the Georgian capital as the exercise of citizens' legitimate rights.
"Peaceful protesters in Georgia continue to be detained, persecuted, and fined for exercising their rights. We once again call on the Georgian authorities to ensure that civil society is not subject to persecution,”
