Permission to use the Russian Armed Forces abroad, given by the Federation Council, applies only to Syria, and not to any other country, the Head of the Committee of the Upper House of Parliament on international affairs Konstantin Kosachev stated in an interview during the program 'International Review' on the TV channel 'Russia-24'.
"All the questions asked received comprehensive answers. And in the part concerning the geographical focus of this operation it is Syria and only Syria, because the strict condition, which was outlined by the President and which, of course, was supported by the Federation Council, is that in its actions, Russia remains within the limits of international law," Interfax quoted him as saying.
