Kosachev comments on Agramunt's appointment as PACE chairman

The chairman of the Federation Council’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Konstantin Kosachev, believes that the election of Spanish lawmaker Pedro Agramunt as the PACE chairman provides hope for changes for the better in the Assembly.

He noted that he is personally acquainted with the new PACE head and described him as "a thinking politician who seeks compromise rather than confrontation."

According to Kosachev, Agramunt, of course, "will operate within the agreed positions of the political groups, which does not leave the chairman much room for maneuver."
