The European Union and the United States should sort out bilateral relations on their own, the matter does not bother Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on German Chancellor Angela Merkel's call for Europe to take its fate into its own hands.
"The US side and the Europeans should tackle their relations by themselves, this is not our concern,"Sputnik cited Peskov as saying.
Peskov noted that although Russia is a part of Europe, the country had always relied only on itself throughout the centuries.
Earlier, Merkel said at an election rally in Munich that Europe could no longer rely on its longstanding partners and should "take its fate into its own hands".
