The Kremlin knows nothing about the upcoming wedding of Germany’s ex-Chancellor Gerhard Schroder and hence Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot have any plans of visiting it, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"So far, we have no information [about the wedding]. So far, there are no decisions [about visiting it] either," TASS cited the spokesman as saying.
On his way to Berlin, for talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, on Saturday, Putin made a stopover in Austria to attend the wedding of the country’s Foreign Minister Kneissl and businessman Wolfgang Meilinger.
Germany’s Bild newspaper said Berlin did not rule out Putin’s presence at a wedding ceremony of former Chancellor Gerhard Schroder and interpreter Kim So-yeon of South Korea due on October 5. The paper however noted that that was nothing but speculation as there were no official information about a possible visit.
