The Kremlin "absolutely rules out" the possibility of the participation of Russian military in ground operations in Syria, the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov stated today.
"Yes, absolutely. We are not considering a ground operation and we will not consider it in the future," TASS quoted him as saying.
Continuing the Syrian topic and answering a question about a map, "which accidentally appeared in footage of Russian television, which had notations which, according to observers, may indicate the presence of Russian artillery in the central regions of Syria," Peskov stated: "I can repeat that we are not experts on maps, and in this case it is necessary to ask for comments from our colleagues from the Ministry of Defence," RIA Novosti reported.
