Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the statement made by State Duma Deputy Mikhail Delyagin during a political talk show, about possible Russian strikes on the oil infrastructure of Azerbaijan due to the situation on the Azerbaijani territories, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed.
"This statement in no way corresponds and cannot correspond to Russia's official position," the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.
He suggested that the deputy's statement derives from an outburst of personal emotions.
"We urge you to control these emotions and refrain from making such statements, especially towards our partners. Azerbaijan ranks among our partners," Peskov noted.
The spokesman explained that it is especially important now, when Russia is making big efforts to maintain peace in the region and the parties to fulfill their obligations.
