Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as soon as the opportunity arises. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, on June 7.

"High-level contacts will continue, including in the very near future. At the highest level, as soon as the opportunity arises, the presidents will meet",

the Kremlin representative said.

At the same time, he added that representatives of the two countries continued contacts with each other.

"The Russian-Turkish economic dialogue continues with all the existing problems... In Türkiye, it may be more difficult to cope with this pressure, taking into account, among other things, the economic problems that the country has...",

the Press Secretary of the Russian President said.

Let us recall that in February it was reported that the leaders of the Russian Federation and Türkiye would hold negotiations after the elections in both countries, but the meeting has not yet taken place for various reasons. The last face-to-face meeting of the Presidents was held in Sochi in September 2023.
