Kremlin reveals agenda of Putin-Merkel talks

Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel plan to discuss a wide spectrum of current issues during the negotiations that will take place in Berlin on August 18. The agenda includes the US sanctions, the situation in Syria and Ukraine, as well as issues of economic cooperation, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"They will update each other on all crucial issues: the global issues, of course, Ukraine, Syria, the restrictions that many countries face right now and the consequences of those restrictions," he noted.

In reply to the question about whether the leaders will discuss the potential U.S. sanctions, including the sanctions against German companies, Peskov said, "they will, obviously they will."

"Besides, they will touch upon the issues of bilateral trade and economic relations, realization of major international commercial projects, that is, the Nord Stream 2, and other issues that the countries will find necessary to discuss," TASS cited the spokesman as saying.
