Russian President Vladimir Putin and US president Donald Trump respect each other, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"[Trump] previously maintained contacts with President Putin, they respect each other and they are quite good at talking, although previously they had very short opportunities for communication. This time we are counting on a more meaningful conversation," Peskov said in the interview with RT.
The Russian-US summit will begin at 13:00 Moscow time on July 16. It will take place at the Presidential Palace in downtown Helsinki. The two leaders are expected to give a joint news conference after the meeting.
