Kuban goalkeeper joins PSG

The goalkeeper of the Russian football club Krasnodar, Matvey Safonov, has joined PSG. The press services of both clubs confirm the corresponding information.

A five-year contract was signed with the 25-year-old goalkeeper of the Russian national team.

In an interview with the press service of his new club, Matvey emphasized that he was glad to become a player on such an eminent team.

"I'm very delighted to join PSG, one of the greatest clubs in terms of its history and track record. I can't wait to meet my new teammates, represent my new club and make the fans proud. Let's go Paris!",

Matvey Safonov said.

Let us remember that last season PSG became the champion of France for the third time in a row. This is the 12th league title in history for Paris Saint-Germain.

Safonov played 175 matches for Krasnodar, conceding 208 goals and 53 saves. Last season, the goalkeeper played for Krasnodar in all 30 matches in the Russian Championship, making 11 saves.
