A decrease in the grain harvest was recorded in Krasnodar Krai this year: the region's grain harvest is 18% lower than the previous year, the head of the region, Veniamin Kondratyev, announced. He emphasized that, despite the very poor weather conditions, this year's harvest was maintained at a decent level.
Krasnodar Krai Head Veniamin Kondratyev announced the negative impact the drought had on Kuban grain harvests. The region harvested 13.8 mln tons of grain in 2024, and only 11.3 mln tons this year.
Kondratyev emphasized that 2.5 mln tons of grain were lost due to weather conditions that Kuban farmers had to contend with for almost the entire year: an early drought was followed by cold spells that partially destroyed the crops.
