Hakkari Airport in southeastern Turkey was attacked by militants from the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) today, the Turkish newspaper Sabah reported.
Militants attacked the airport terminal building with assault rifles. Police forces guarding the airport fired back, forcing the militants to retreat. The security forces are combing the area to neutralize them, RIA Novosti reports.
