Kurds call on to set up no-fly zone after Turkish attacks

Syrian Kurdish forces called for a no-fly zone across the country's north in response to deadly Turkish air strikes the previous day, the media reported.

"Only (by) declaring north Syria as a no-fly zone can YPG defend the country unhindered. Turkey must adhere to no-fly zone," the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) wrote on Twitter.

The co-chair of the political wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Ilham Ahmed, said that a no-fly zone must be set up to protect Kurdish forces from further Turkish attacks.

"The IS must take a clear stand against Turkish aggression. We demand that the US establish a no-fly zone to protect us against further aggression," al-Monitor cited him as saying.
