Relations with Turkey are of utmost importance for Georgia, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said at a briefing together with Turkey's Prime Minister Binali Yildirim held today during his visit to Turkey, InterpressNews agency reported.
"I want to thank my friend, Mr. Binali Yildirim, for the invitation. Relations with Turkey are of utmost importance for us. Georgia and Turkey have been developing cooperation in many directions for many years. I am glad that I have been given the opportunity to participate in the opening ceremony of the Eurasia Tunnel, which connects Asia and Europe to each other and create new transportation opportunities. The aim of Turkey and Georgia, together with our partners, is to take active part in the restoration of Silk Road," he said.
According to him, Georgia is interested in further deepening of relations with Turkey in areas of politics, trade, economy, transport, energy and culture. "We have successful relationship in terms of implementation of joint transport and energy projects. In this regard, I have four-year cooperation with my oldest friend, Mr. Binali Yildirim. We carried out many important projects together," he said.
