 Kvirikashvili to leave for Tehran at end of week

Georgian Prime Minister Georgy Kvirikashvili will visit Iran at the end of the week, the Georgian Foreign Minister Mikhail Janelidze said after meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.

"In terms of developing relations between the countries, the planned visit of the Georgian Prime Minister, Georgy Kvirikashvili to Iran, which will take place at the end of this week, is very important," he said.

"Today, we discussed the preparation of the visit in detail, including the meetings that will be held in Tehran," Sputnik-Georgia cited Janelidze as saying.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Georgia yesterday on a two-day official visit.

Janelidze and Zarif expressed hope that these visits will give impetus to the deepening of bilateral relations.
