Kyrgyzstan declares May 1-2 national mourning days for Kyrgyz-Tajik border conflict victims

May 1 and 2 have been declared the national mourning days in Kyrgyzstan. The respective order was signed by President Sadyr Japarov, AKIPress reports. 

At least 31 Kyrgyzstanis died and 154 were wounded as a result of the conflict.

The conflict led to significant destructions of private properties, infrastructure.

Flags throughout Kyrgyzstan and at diplomatic missions abroad will be flown at half-mast.

The government will provide assistance to families of those who died and were injured.
