Iranian parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani has met with Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan Nechirvan Barzani.
"Iran pays paramount importance to maintaining stability and security in the Iraqi Kurdistan region," TASS cited him as saying.
Larijani stressed that in this situation all the political forces of the autonomy "should work out an internal consensus in order not to allow enemies like IS to misuse their conditions."
Barzani thanked Iran's parliamentary speaker for the assistance. "IS is our main enemy in the region and, of course, we have been able to decrease its power through cooperation in the region and liberate many regions to the borders of Mosul," he stressed.
