The Latvian Ministry of Defense has prepared the Cabinet of Minister’s draft order on the alienation of a land area of about five hectares in the Jaunaluksnensky volost of the Aluksnensky Territory, BNS reports.
The military department did not specify for what purposes the site will be used since access to this information is limited. However, the draft order of the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers says that according to a decision adopted by the previous government in 2016, an action plan was approved to develop the air defense potential and expand the radar coverage area to monitor airspace and modernize existing air defense systems, Interfax reports.
