Turkey confirmed that the Akkuyu NPP project will be given the official status of a strategic investment, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
"We favorably evaluated preparatory work for construction of a nuclear power plant at the Akkuyu site in Turkey by Russian specialists. Our partners have confirmed that this project will receive the official status of a strategic investment," TASS cited Lavrov as saying.
