Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during his visit to Turkmenistan that Moscow and Ashgabat have similar positions on the legal status of the Caspian Sea.
"We are in favor of the Caspian as a sea of peace and good neighborliness, we seek military building transparency here within the reasonable sufficiency limits. So that the Caspian states could solve all the issues related to the use of this water body," RIA Novosti cited Lavrov as saying.
The Russian minister also noted that Ashgabat shares the view of Moscow regarding the need for institutional registration of the agencies that will deal with the five-sided economic cooperation in the Caspian, settlement of transport connection issues and fulfilling the logistical tasks.
