Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has confirmed that Russia provides the Iraqi Kurds with military-technical assistance in accordance with an agreement with the Baghdad authorities.
‘‘As for Iraq, we told you many times that in those cases when the interaction of the central government of Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan are necessary to be reinforced we do it with consent of them in order to support their efforts in fighting terrorism,’’ the minister told a press conference after a meeting with his Finnish counterpart, RIA Novosti reports.
