Russia's President Vladimir Putin is open to meeting with the U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"With regard to contacts at the highest level, President Vladimir Putin, at a press conference following the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, said that he was open to meeting with the U.S. president when the American side was ready," the top Russian diplomat pointed out in an interview with Sputnik.
"Now it is difficult to say when and where such contacts may take place," he noted.
The long-awaited talks between Putin and his U.S. counterpart on the sidelines of the G20 summit were cancelled by Donald Trump over the Kerch Strait incident.
