Moscow calls for providing security guarantees to Russia, Ukraine and all European countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference following talks with Indian top diplomat Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Friday.
"We support providing security guarantees to Ukraine, all European countries and Russia based on documents approved within the OSCE, which endorse the principle that no country will strengthen its security at the expense of the security of others," Lavrov said in response to a TASS question.
According to him, no one will object if India moves to support the process of providing guarantees based on its fair position and reasonable approach to resolving global issues.
Lavrov also pointed out that he had not heard any talk about the possibility of India acting as a mediator in talks between Moscow and Kiev. "I can only say that we certainly respect the balanced position of India, who is not subject to influence through blackmail and attempts to dictate terms," the Russian top diplomat noted.
