Lavrov: Russia preparing new Astana-format summit

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia is getting ready to host a new Astana-format summit on Syria.

Speaking at a meeting with deputy foreign ministers of the Syrian ceasefire guarantor nations , he recalled that already three summits have been held in Sochi, Tehran and Istanbul. 

"Now it is our turn to prepare the next summit," TASS cited the diplomat as saying.

Lavrov added he hoped that a new meeting between the Russian, Turkish and Iranian leaders would mark further progress on the Syrian settlement.
