Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the 5th Moscow International Security Conference that NATO’s proposals to renew trust building measures look strange against the backdrop of Alliance’s general line on deterring Russia.
"The recent session of the Russia-NATO Council was held at the insistent request of the Alliance after a long pause," he reminded.
According to Lavrov, "against the backdrop of statements of NATO leadership about deterring Russia, building up military forces near our borders, proposals to renew measures of confidence building and security look strange".
"The West should refuse an anti-Russian course in order to hold a constructive dialogue," TASS cited Lavrov as saying.
