The Russian Foreign Ministry announced today that spokeswoman Maria Zakharova along with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday August 17.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also reported that the visit will take place in line with a recently significantly intensified Russian-Iranian political dialogue. "The foreign ministers will focus on further development of bilateral relations, including taking into account the joint comprehensive plan of action to resolve the situation around the Iranian nuclear program that was agreed on July 14 in Vienna. The sides will exchange views on key issues of global and regional issues, including overcoming the crisis in Syria," the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement reads.
