Moscow, Ankara and Tehran are preparing a meeting on Syria at the level of the foreign ministers in Astana, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed.
"We will move forward based on the resolution of the UN Security Council," RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
The diplomat explained that he means Resolution 2254, which requires respect for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Syria. In addition, according to Lavrov, the resolution obliges not to hamper the citizens of Syria to negotiate independently and not to impose any outside solutions to them.
