Lavrov: inter-religious split in the Middle East should not be allowed

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has made a statement at a meeting with the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Primate of the Syrian Jacobite Church Mor Ignatius Ephrem II about the inadmissibility of division  in the Middle East on religious grounds.

We "always attach great importance to close contacts with representatives of various confessions" in the region, Foreign Minister said.
