Turkish Foreign Minister called his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, and expressed condolences over the crash of the Su-24 bomber, which was shot down on November 24 by Turkish military aircraft above the territory of Syria, RIA Novosti reported.
"We were waiting for explanations from the Turkish side yesterday and at a higher level, but better late than never," Lavrov noted.
According to the Russian minister, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Mevlut Cavusoglu, told him during a telephone conversation that the Turkish dispatchers did not know the national affiliation of the downed Su-24, TASS notes.
