A male leopard was caught on camera in the Arazboyu reserve of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on December 28.
The images have been shot by camera traps set up as part of joint project on the restoration of leopard populations being implemented by the IDEA, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the World Wildlife Fund.
Experts said that over the last four years Caucasian leopards have returned to their habitats in Azerbaijan more intensively. They were spotted in Zangazur National Park named after Hasan Aliyev in September 2012, February-March 2013 and January 2014, and in Hirkan National Park in October 2012 and May 2013.
