Today, vice president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the head of the Foundation office in Russia, chairman of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AMOR), founder of the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) Leyla Aliyeva marks her birthday.
Leyla Aliyeva is also the initiator of such an important campaign as "Justice for Khojaly". Its goal is to inform the world community about the truth of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Leyla Aliyeva received primary and secondary education at the Baku School №160, and then continued her to study in Switzerland and the UK. In 2000, she enrolled in the European School of Business (ESB). From 2006 to 2008 she studied at the master's degree program of MGIMO. Since May 10, 2007 Leyla Aliyeva heads the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Moscow. On December 19, 2007 she presented "Baku" magazine to Moscow audience and Azerbaijani diaspora.
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has many projects that were implemented and continue to be implement in many different areas - education, health, sport, support and development of Azerbaijani culture.
The activity of Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AMOR), which works to strengthen friendship between Azerbaijani and Russian youth, as well as suppot and mutual understanding between students of the two countries, deserves particular attention. The activity of AMOR covers various areas, including science, culture, education, sport, charity, and most importantly - it unites Azerbaijani youth, helping it to integrate into Russian society and to honorably represent rich Azerbaijani culture and ancient history.
To date, the organization has more than 70 regional offices across the entire Russia. AMOR annually carried out charity event dedicated to the International Children's Day.
As the head of the IDEA, Leyla Aliyeva also pays attention to environmental issues. IDEA actively works on greening of Azerbaijan - since the founding of the organization, the country planted more than 5 million new trees under its auspices. The fauna of Azerbaijan is also under close attention of the IDEA, which took custody of rare animal species.
Leyla Aliyeva is a Goodwill Ambassador of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). In 2015, she won the "International Dialogue Year" for effective work in the area of health protection and valuable contribution to the development of international dialogue in order to ensure ecological balance.
