Lobbying group Frankfurt Main Finance on Friday morning activated a special hotline for banks that want to discuss moving operations outside Britain following the UK’s vote to leave the European Union, the managing director of the group, Hubertus Väth, said.
Väth’s organization plans a roadshow in London and other cities in an attempt to lure jobs away from the UK.
"The welcome banner is hung and Frankfurt’s doors are wide open," The Wall Street Journal cited Väth as saying.
As many as 10,000 London bankers could cross the North Sea to Frankfurt, a professor of risk management at Frankfurt’s School of Finance and Management, Martin Hellmich, estimated.
