London honors memory of victims of Khojaly tragedy

In London, in the framework of the international campaign 'Justice for Khojaly!', a traditional concert dedicated to the memory of the Khojaly victims was held.

The event, organized with support from the European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), was attended by the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva.

The concert was attended by officials, employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Great Britain, members of Azerbaijani organizations operating in this country, public representatives, as well as Azerbaijanis living in London and students from various universities.

In his speech before the concert, TEAS Director Lionel Zetter informed about the Khojaly tragedy. Commenting on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Zetter expressed confidence that justice will be restored soon. The issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was also raised by the Chairman of the European Azerbaijan Society, Tale Heydarov. According to him, hundreds of unarmed people were killed with extreme cruelty during the tragedy.

Speaking about the activities of the international campaign 'Justice for Khojaly!', implemented at the initiative of the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the General Coordinator of the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Tale Heydarov spoke about the activity that is aimed at the recognition of Azerbaijani realities at the international level, successfully carried out in the framework of the campaign, Trend reports.

Works of Azerbaijani and Western composers Fikret Amirov, Kara Karaev, Vasif Adigezalov, J. Pergolesi and others were performed in the framework of the concert by Azerbaijani musicians Sabina Rakcheeva, Nazrin Rashidova (violin), Rafiq Rustamov (tar), Gunel Mirzoeva, Ayan Salakhova (piano), Jamal Aliyev (cello), Seldzhan Nasibli (soprano), Alexander Dzhermanovich (piano) and the Deco ensemble.
